Glenmore has several on-going, annual activities, which are detailed in the Events Calendar. If you are interested in volunteering your time to assist with any of Glenmore's activities or projects, or serve as a volunteer docent, please contact us (link at left). Branner CemeteryIn 2004, a combined effort spanning thousands of donated hours by volunteers from Glenmore Mansion, the Jefferson County Historical Society, and the Jefferson County Genealogical Society resulted in the cleaning, mapping, indexing, and restoration of Branner Cemetery. The Cemetery, located adjacent to Glenmore Mansion, was donated to Glenmore Chapter, APTA, upon completion of the work. Full details, including a map of burials, are available from Glenmore's office. Contact us (link at left) if you have questions. Helen Gray's history of the cemetery, published in Glenmore's newsletter, is available to registered users of this site. Click here to read it. Our two main projects at this time are membership growth and house restoration.House RestorationBecause of the hundreds of hours volunteered by Restoration Chairman Rich Harlan and his crew, there was enough money to complete Phase I of the four restoration phases outlined by the architects. Hats off to Rich and crew, who helped us achieve our goal when the Board thought we would be $20,000 short. Read the Restoration Chairman's December, 2000, Report Phase II is well underway. Guttering on the balcony has been replaced, and porch guttering replacement began in late September, 2002. Also in Fall, 2002, we began restoring the wrap-around porch. In order to complete Phase II, Glenmore needs to raise more than $35,000. This will cover restoring damaged windows and brickwork; replacing deteriorated posts, spindles, and railings on the porch; finishing guttering on the porch; and adding a copper roof to cover an area that was not re-roofed earlier because funds ran out.
