2010 Christmas at Glenmore PDF Print E-mail

Historic Glenmore Victorian Mansion will be decorated for the Christmas holiday in festive greenery, bows, swags and wreaths. The 15-foot parlor tree will once again be beautifully adorned with Victorian ornaments.

The Second-Empire Victorian Mansion will be open during the following hours:

Saturday, December 41 - 6 pmCandlelight Tours 7 - 9 pm
Sunday, December 51 - 6 pmCandlelight Tours 7 - 9 pm
Saturday, December 111 - 6 pmCandlelight Tours 7 - 9 pm
Sunday, December 121 - 6 pmCandlelight Tours 7 - 9 pm

Hot Wassail and Victorian-style sweets will be served to each guest in the dining room.

Our very popular Christmas Gift Shop and Bakery will be open.

Cost: $5.00 for ages 13 and above; $2.50 children 12 and under

Please join us Saturday, November 8th, at 2:00 p.m. when a plaque and millstone are presented to the Glenmore Chapter, APTA, by the children of Ras and Adeline Lillard. This event is free and open to the public.

Christmas Market to Open Our 2008 Holiday Celebration PDF Print E-mail
Friday, December 5, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

This is an indoor event.

Vendors will be selling Christmas gift items and holiday decorations, including vintage jewelry, crafts, and herbal products.

Additionally, we will have real Boxwood Wreaths, made by Glenmore volunteers, available. The cost is $20.00 for a 24-26" wreath. Be sure you'll have one by pre-ordering. You may e-mail (click the Contact link in the menu) or telephone us at 865-475-4414.

Your $5 admission to the Christmas Market will entitle you to return to Glenmore on December 13 or 14 for a regular Christmas tour. Please note these dates, as tours on December 6-7 are not included in the free admission for Christmas Market ticket holders.

We will have a Sweets Shop, where a variety of delectable, homemade items may be purchased for gifts or for your own enjoyment.

Every guest will receive a favor, Christmas tea, and a sweet or savory snack. Door prizes will be given hourly.

Fall is just around the corner, which means Christmas will be here before we know it!

This year's Christmas celebration at Glenmore promises lots of excitement and activities for our members and visitors.

We hope to welcome you this year!

We hope you will consider Glenmore as a venue for your personal or professional holiday parties.

All proceeds from Glenmore events support restoration of Glenmore Victorian Mansion, an APTA (Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities) site. Glenmore is maintained by volunteers of the Glenmore Chapter and is a 501(c)(3) organization.
