Valentine Card

Glenmore Mansion hosted a Victorian Valentine's Day event on Saturday, February 7, 2009. About 50 ladies of all ages, and one absolutely darling young man, had a grand time.

It was a little chilly until the outside temperature warmed up, but we were able to get a repairman in to fix the heat system. We do apologize for the inconvenience to our guests.

We made Victorian-style Valentine greeting cards with guidance from area crafters. Afterward, our guests enjoyed tea and scones, Victorian-style (china cups!), and toured the mansion.

Soon, we will have recipes and photographs available for you to view.

If you're unfamiliar with the importance of Valentine's Day to Victorian-era people, there is an on-line exhibition with gorgeous examples at Indiana University Web site.
