In Memoriam: Helene "Jinx" Bryant (1931-2009) PDF Print E-mail

Jinx Bryant was a long-time, active member of Glenmore Chapter. Her volunteer spirit will be greatly missed.

Helene L. "Jinx" Bryant, age 77, of Blaine, formerly of La Plata, Maryland, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at her residence. She was born July 23, 1931, in New Cumberland, West Virginia.

She was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force for four years. She was a member of American Legion Post #472 in Manor, Pennsylvania, for 47 continuous years. She was a civilian employee of the United States Government for 23 years, past president of Five Rivers Deanery Council of Catholic Women, past secretary and treasurer of the Glenmore Mansion Chapter of A.P.T.A., active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church congregation and Parish Office Manager.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry V. and Josephine Vogle; brother, Harry Vogle. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jack Bryant; sons, Victor R. Bryant, Kenneth W. Bryant and David R. Bryant; daughter, Jacqueline R. Peeden; grandsons, Steven V. and Kenneth L. Bryant; granddaughters, Samantha and Sarita Bryant; great-grandson, Jacob Bryant; brothers, Nicholas and Arthur Vogle; sister, Patricia Murphy; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass was held Saturday, January 17 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Dan Whitman conducting the services. The family received friends Friday, January 16 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. An interment service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 20 in East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund, c/o Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 475 N. Highway 92, Jefferson City, TN 37760. Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City, is in charge of arrangements.
